Cryotherapy is a treatment of some skin lesions, such as wart, skin tag, actinic keratosis, and seborrhoeic keratosis. The treatment is done through freezing the lesion using liquid Nitrogen. The liquid Nitrogen is applied to the skin lesion for a few seconds, depending on the diameter and depth of the lesion.
The patient will feel mild stinging and burning sensations, which only lasts for 1-2 hours, and the site of treatment might continue to be tender for a few days.
The side effects of discoloration are rare and are almost in darker skin types.
